The Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) course is your entry level course to teaching and training and is your gateway to gaining a training qualification.

This course is aimed at individuals who work, or who are aiming to work, in the further education and training sector either in FE Colleges, Independent Training Providers and/or Local Authorities. It is ideal for anyone who doesn’t have any experience yet, and/or needs to gain the qualification. The course has been written by Ann Gravells and developed by Chris Vaines. The course is mapped to the qualification content and sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) at level 3.

This course offers the convenience of remote online learning so that it can be completed anytime and anywhere.

Course assessment

This course will be assessed by a portfolio of evidence and an observed micro-teach session. All evidence is assessed and quality assured by experienced and qualified staff. As part of the course you will need to complete a micro - teach session. This will demonstrate your ability to deliver training to learners and to create the required documentation to support this. The micro - teach session can be observed live or recorded and sent to us for assessment. You will be provided with a private link to upload your video recording and the supporting documents (including your peer and self-evaluation forms) for the micro - teach. You will receive further guidance regarding this during the course.

Course Assessment

This course will be assessed by a portfolio of evidence and practical creation of a digital e-learning course and it’s supporting documentation, for example, Course Commissioning Process Documents, Lesson Plans and Story Boards. We provide you with access to a professional e-learning authoring tool and other tools to create your course. Your course will then be assessed based on the end design and all supporting documentation. You will also need to complete the knowledge and understanding workbook. All evidence is assessed and quality assured by experienced and qualified staff. Your workbook, e-learning course and supporting documents can all be assessed remotely without the need for you to attend any centres.

This course aims to make learning and skills attainment accessible and all in one place as well as set you on the path to becoming a successful blended learning practitioner. It will provide you with knowledge, practical skills and an Highfield accredited programme certificate to demonstrate your achievement.
